2002 – American Gem and Trade Association (AGTA) Winner

Tucson Arizona – (Feb. 2002) Ronald Davidson of Canadian Diamonds Wholesale Ltd., was awarded a prestigious 2002 Spectrum Award, by the American Gem and Trade Association (AGTA). The Spectrum Contest is “The World’s most important coloured gemstone and jewelry design competition.”
For the second year in a row the AGTA has honored Mr. Davidson. This year Mr. Davidson was presented with Manufacturing Honors in the Bridal Category.
The artist’s platinum and 18kt gold handmade ring with 2.00ct pink sapphire, 2=.68ct blue sapphires and .29ct diamonds was recognized by the judges for:

outstanding use of natural gemstones
Over 400 of North America’s top jewelry designers entered the 2002 competition. To be honoured with a Spectrum Award is an incredible achievement. To win two years consecutively is very rare & establishes Mr. Davidson as one of North America’s premiere goldsmiths and designers.
The 2002 award winning designs were on display February 6 – 11 at the AGTA Gem Fair in Tucson, Arizona. The award-winning artists were honored at the AGTA awards and dinner dance on February 9, 2002.

2001 – American Gem and Trade Association (AGTA) Winner

Hometown Artist Wins Prestigious Jewelry Design Award

(November 2000) Ronald Davidson of Canadian Diamonds Wholesale Ltd. was awarded a prestigious 2001 Spectrum Award by the American Gem Trade Association (AGTA) in the 2001 AGTA Spectrum Award natural coloured gemstone jewelry design competition.
The artist’s 18K and stainless steel ring 2.57ct citrine; .55ct tsavorite (green garnet); and .05ct diamond was awarded 1st Place in Division 5 in recognition of exceptional merit.

The judging criteria for the awards include:

Innovation in design
Quality of gem materials
Quality of workmanship
High potential to generate positive publicity for gemstones of natural origin
Broad based consumer appeal

The American Gem Trade Association’s 2001 AGTA Spectrum Award competition drew the most colourful and unusual jewelry designs created in calendar year 2000. The competition is the only North American competition to honor the creative use of natural coloured gemstones in original jewelry design. Entrants compete with America’s top coloured gemstone jewelry designers.
Judging was held in October 2000. The winning designs will be on display January 31 – February 5, 2001 at the AGTA GemFair in Tucson, Arizona. The 2001 AGTA Spectrum Award winners were honored at the American Gem Trade Association Awards and Dinner Dance on Saturday, February 3, 2001.
